Im deciding whether or not to purchase it and have posted these pictures on another forum and also had my friend who is apart of a german miltiary re-enactment group psot the pictures on their forum.

So far no luck with anyone. Got any hints as to what this could be?

Please and Thanks,

JR

I'll be glad to help you. I can tell what it is not. It is not an original piece of Third Reich militaria. The eagle looks like an early political cap eagle. Who knows what the red disc is, possibly cut from the lid of a peanut butter jar (extra crunchy). And the star looks like a piece of junk. Then look at that soldering on the back. Any Reich period maker who produced this would have been send to the camps. In short, you're a fool to buy it.

A friendly criticism. The fact that you even questioned this thing tells me two things. First: You're smart enough to get advise before buying. Very good. Second: You have a long way to go before you will be competent in the hobby. Don't give up, keep looking and asking and you'll learn.

Hope this was of some help to you.

I have seen the eagle before...as a cap badge.

Since i have never seen this item...in any database it smelled fishy.

I knew it was poor quality and nothing matched. I was thinknig it was a something they gave out to czech volunteers or something. Detail/quality was nothing compared to 3rd reich items...also the perso nselling this is also selling an SS alarm clock, SS lighter and a ballonist badge.....the ballonist badge looked real....clock/lighter looked like garbage.

And i have only been collecting for 2-3 months and prefer to know what an item is before i buy it. Good thing i did as the price was $185 lol
