We're growing! The Gallery hit 140 pages this morning, which means there are over 3500 for sale ads on our site! Thanks to all our members for making our site such a great place to buy and sell German militaria! Our stats show that last month we received over 46,000 visits, and I'm working to increase that number. I won't stop till we are number 1 on all the major search terms.! It's a numbers game; the more hits, the better the site.
The new feedback system is alive and active and quite a few members are posting on it. Fortunately the great majority of the posting are very positive and, of course, there are no really horrible posts, because we get rid of the bad guys. Some members are posting to another member's feedback when they see something they think is fake. I personally think this is a good idea, it discourages crooks from posting fakes in the first place and it advises other members that this seller doesn't always have good stuff.
A couple of weeks ago I posed a question in the ''What's New'', asking if you all thought I should let an ad offering a fake set on the site a while so feedback could be posted, or if I should remove it as soon as possible. The response was heavily in favor of letting it set. Seems the members want to see these things and have a chance to post feedback on the seller. Ok, we'll let em set.....
Every couple of days or so I get an email from someone asking about our site. They want to know why they have to join just to buy from ''me''. It's obvious from their email that they didn't look very close and don't have a clue what the site is all about. First, ''I'' am not selling any militaria, all the ads are posted by our members. And second, the membership is not just to ''buy'' something... it's much more than that. The whole idea of the site is to provide a place to buy or sell German militaria without paying a fortune in commissions. It does just that.
Posting ads should be a little better now. A while back we instituted some security measures which made it so you couldn't use certain characters in your ads... like quote marks and brackets. We have replaced that with new security and now you can pretty much type anything you want. Hope this will make it easier to do ads. |
