I have in my collection a Luftwafffe Parachute Badge which bears all the characteristics of a BSW badge...including their distinctive pin hinge. It looks right, smells right, has the correct eagle, measures correctly and is of the correct weight. However...it has an Assmann "A" maker mark to the reverse of the eagle!...(and certainly does not possess the distinctive Assmann eagle conformation).

Any ideas or comments as to this maker's mark mystery would be most welcome.
