In the 2 years I have been a member of this site, a great many changes have taken place.
We have seen thousands of original war relics listed, and sold to new homes.
We have seen the number of items for sale go from 12 pages in the gallery, to today's nearly 150 pages.
I have made many new friends, and feel a real sense of community building here.
The total experience of involvement on this site, is the best thing I know of on the internet.
The predominant activity this site is the buying and selling of relics.
The blog and the forum, are very important assets and I hope eventually everyone understands this and contributes more to them.
Our community is polite, positive and friendly.
I encourage everybody to build friendships beyond just the exchange of relics for currency.
The lack of contentiousness and squabbling, is due to everyone's efforts to keep fakes off the site.
There was a lot of discussion regarding that policy, and the banning of fakes has left us with a selection we can have a lot of confidence in.
Photos cannot detect bad items with 100% accuracy.
Some variants and some items, may be different looking than the accepted wisdom might bless as original.
Bob and the community are doing a great job of eliminating any crap that gets listed.
If it cannot be determined that a piece is very likely a clunker, it might remain listed in some instances.
The final verdict on acceptability as original, must always reside with the person buying an item.
It is his responsibility to know what he is investing in.
As far as the people who list items that are bad, please realize that they are not all crooks.
We all have to purchase from the same marketplace, but we all do not have the same knowledge.
Some people are definitely trying to sell fakes with full knowledge they are not legit.
They do not last long on this website.
Other people really do not know, but they still must sell those elsewhere.
Try and be polite in all situations, there is enough rudeness on other forums and sites.
Whatever the situation, Bob has the final say as to whether it remains for sale here or not.
I hope everyone else is enjoying the experience here. As membership grows and the site evolves, we should be happy to know we are the only web based community like this.
For a very small membership fee we can offer unlimited numbers of relics, and pay no fees at all. We constantly find new items to choose from each day.
I must ask, ' How Great Is That?! ' |
