Dealers and Collectors

Looking at this topic and as my first post, it seemed the right place to inquire about who is or has been in the hobby in the last 30+ years?

I wanted to know where you rate certain collectors. I see that some names are up allready and I wanted to see if more should go here.

As I read this forum, the consensus is that E-bay blows when it comes to German Military items from WWII. I see that a collector/dealer is selling his items.

For my first few names I will submit Craig Gottlieb. (I have not sold or bought anything from him) anyone deal with this person? I see that he had a couple of negative feedback on e-bay. What is his status in the collector world, any good or bad info.

George Peterson (Maryland, about 20 + years ago) I have purchased some items from him along with a book he helped write. What is his status in the collector world?

This particular question could open a hornets nest John, it will be very interesting to see what is forthcoming. When you start talking about dealers, as with anything from property to motor cars, let the buyer beware Wink

I agree with your last statement. I just felt that if anyone had a bad experience or a positive one, I would like to know. A raiting system of the sort.

I don't have anything against either of these two dealers. But in my experience you have to be crazy to trust any of them if money is involved.

Ah! someone who appreciates synicism. Well said!
I have bought a couple of low end cloth items from Craig Gottlieb & one dagger. I was happy with the items & the service was good. One can only speak as one finds.
