That's the question lets see where we can go with this.
I will start I have veteran acquired 1, SS Honor dagger as well as 1, chained Honor style both have been shown in a books many times over the last 27 years.
What overall condition was the example you have found in?
Did it still have gilt on the motto or trademark?
Both examples had non of left of the gilt finish.
Was it an early twin oval Eickhorn Trademark?
Both of the examples I found had early twin oval style TM's.
Who's found a later style Trade Mark?
How was the leathers condition?
On both examples I have found the leather was in less than super shape.
Where all the numbers the same on the parts? Mine were a bit off in both case's.
Did you clean off the age patina or leave it alone? I left them as found and sold them that way. |

| Hi Thicket. Sounds like a fun game, but I'm afraid I don't quite understand how to play. Can you explain a little more...signed the real Thick one. |

Hi Geo2,
Its really very easy, I guess what I am looking to do is see what condition others have found these daggers in, after 45 years of digging these items out of the woodwork, as well knowning others that have done so that long, Its odd that no one has yet to unearth one of these with the Gold finish 100% intact on the mottos, let alone with near mint to mint leather, or any signs of age or patina.
So what I am in fact doing is asking everyone here what they have found on this style dagger and how many they have found.. So you see its really easy, thanks for asking... Perhaps we can all learn something new here. |
