Fakes and frauds... the never ending plaque of our hobby! I didn't keep an exact count but I would say that this past week I removed about 50 fake items that were posted for sale.

There is no reasonable way I can keep someone from posting a fake. Reviewing every item before it's listed would not be practical or reasonable. So, what I'm left with is having to remove them after they're up.

I don't really like doing this. After all, who am I to decide if something is real or not? Like it or not, as they say, it's a dirty job but someone has to do it. I'm responsible for this site, so it's up to me.

I don't claim to know everything there is to know about this hobby. Some fakes I can spot a once, others I'm not sure of and still others will get by me completely. Fortunately, there are a couple of members who are very knowledgable and have been helping me with this problem. Wish there were more like them...

I can't be looking at the web site every minute, so sometimes a fake will be posted and up for a while before it's removed. I do my best.... If you see something bogus please don't hesitate to bring it to my attention. As always, the bottom line is that everyone has to watch out for himself and know what he's doing when buying.

This is fine with me. Go ahead and cut the junk out. It's better to have an original cut by mistake once in a while than to have to sift though a batch of ebay type k**p!
