I'm talking about number F3096 that was put up for sale on this site. I find it very interesting that the decoration on the front of these spoons is in relief except for the eagle and the SS that are engraved. Designs in relief have to be done at the time the spoons were made but engraving can be added anytime. I also wonder why some of the other things from his uncles collection are not posted? Just something I noticed.

I have never had much interest in Spoons, Napkins, Cigarette Cases, Goring Cigars etc.
I always thought it odd that one sock or shoe belonging to some famous Nazi would be so interesting as to command hundreds of dollars.

Still there has always been odd bits and pieces showing up. I am reasonably sure the ordering of personalized gadgets and gizmos would have been an unregulated thing and would expect to see various quality in the production techniques.

Sure Hitler and the other leaders outdid each other to give fine trinkets and impress.

But, an order from some monogramed stuff for a dining room for the BDM School Slutzstadt might be done in a local shop and not be very well done , compared to the intitial order's concept.

That was a world of handwerk so there would be master craftsmen and also tradesmen in each discipline. Anything, in any quality, might have been executed.

If we weren't there... How can we judge?

Does anyone really need a swastika so bad that you will buy one even if the Knife or Spoon it is on is a couple hundred bucks?

Not me. Pass the combat relics pleeze!
