I registered here very early on when things first got started. Im glad to see this place is growing and that there are good deals out there and there is an honest effort to see original items only sold here. Text booking third reich might be a little hard but hey, at least there is an effort to not be like Ebay with page after page of repros.

I discovered the forums today and registered right away. Then I found this thread. I wasnt shocked because every forum, every single one I have been a member of his it's share of this crap and it's discouraging and petty as hell. From moderators who delete posts that they dont like or who call out dealers they have bannners for, to mud slinging between 'experts' or long time collectors, to the overall nastiness of some of these people. It's like it's against their nature to be helpful without eating a whole bottle of a$$hole pills first.

The very reason I have walked away from this hobby so many times is the copious amounts of A Type personalities that dominant collecting. The war between forums is interesting isnt it? My love for military history and the artifacts brings me back and then, like now, I am reminded of the type of mud slinging that goes on not so much on the buyer side but between sellers and dealers who are out to protect themselves and their bottom lines.

Compare the eagles to those on dealers sites and then take your two weeks to get as many opinions as you can and in the end, research and dilligence will pay off. I am sure there are turds in all of our collections despite the best of efforts.

The bottom line is, be proactive in learning. It, like the other stuff, happens.

I absolutely agree with your comments. My terms are a very liberal inspection and no reason need for return. If you read all of my forum postings, I feel you will find them to be helpful and giving collectors good usable advice.

While we may look to others for advice in an area we are not sure of, I believe we court disaster by relying solely on others for our investment decisions. If we are so lazy we don't bother to get the knowledge needed to collect the items we want, do we deserve to have great collections?

It seems that a lot of people who may have issues in other pursuits, find the role of 'expert to the peasants' to be gratifying and aggrandizing. Perhaps that is why they spend hundreds or even thousands of postings on many forums, to be worth the hours it takes to bless or curse your newest purchase!

I will make it #3 in agrement with the last two post.

I at first felt the on line fourms would be a great idea, saddly after seening the crap that many arm chair Experts have dished out. I am not so sure about the forums anylonger as if your not a member of a clique, your little better than dirt.

Saddly the very persons within these clique's who lay claim to YOUR stuff being junk, once its thiers; its GOLDEN..
This crap really gets old. Its been going on for years and all it dose it hurt the hobby in the long run..

People, wisdom comes form age and learning not acting like a parrot.

Thus far this fourm has been doing fine, even with a few of the arm chair experts input.

I hope that this forum will grow as a tool for learning - not a tool for the demonic cliques.

Thanks for the moment of your time.
