The time has come....
It's been over a year since this site was launched (January 18, 2007) and I've been paying the bills out of my own pocket all that time. With the cost of programming and monthly fees it's come to quite a tidy sum. I believe it's time to ask you members to help with the expenses. Don't get worried, it's not going to be bad.... I've given it a lot of thought and here's what I intend to do. For one yearly membership fee you get full use of the site, just like you do now. You can buy, sell, or auction all you want. Want to run a hundred ads and sell $1,000,000.00 worth of stuff? No problem. Want to buy from 500 different for sale ads or auctions? Go for it! You're use of the site will be limited only by how much you can handle.
So, how much money am I going to squeeze out of you for all this service? How about $20. a year? That's less than $2 a month and there will be no other fees, commissions or hidden charges. As always your thoughts and ideas are appreciated. I'll be putting the plan into effect in the next few weeks and hope you will all continue to use and enjoy this site as it continues to grow. Good collecting, Bob

Since eBay and the goldrush ended, there has been little to thrill anybody who wanted to collect or sell German items.
Now eBay is limited to junk, and ePier is not worth clicking to.
Most individual websites, are either full of SOLD items, or have a pretty poor selection.
Time wasted is a consideration. I have had hundreds of sites bookmarked. But, after a few years online, only about a dozen sites remain. The rest were a waste of lifespan to visit.
This site is the only place I have seen where you can buy and sell, and get together with other collectors without any interference from a 'ruling class'.
When I added up the dollar costs (Not factoring the hours, the promoting etc.) of assembling, hosting, and maintaining a functioning independent website, it totaled between $170-$450 per month.
When I realized the traffic would start at nothing, and take many months to build, well......
So, here is everything needed, including traffic, for $20 a year.
No maintenance, no engineering, no problems to call a tech about. Just a dead simple way to connect with each other.
The word is DUH! What about this would anybody not get? That is what? $1.65 a month! Again the word is DUH!
Access to the relics that constantly show up for sale here is worth far more than that to me.
Anyone who does not sign up at this low price, is not serious about collecting or selling. |

| I agree with Nr1seller. If someone won't pay twenty bucks a year for this they're either crazy, stupid, or the cheapest collector on the planet! I've bought several items from this site over the past year and haven't had a problem. Even if I didn't buy anything, I would still be glad to pay the membership just to keep up with the way prices are going. Thanks Bob for creating a great site. |

In this hobby $20 is chump change. I'll continue to be a subscriber and will encourage others to do the same. |
